In the card game Bokken Schieten, players try to collect as many goats as possible without exceeding the limit. Each player is dealt 8 cards at the start. They take turns playing 1 card, a trick, face up on the table. The player who has played the card with the lowest value draws a hill card and places it on the table, choosing one of the two values shown on it. The player who has played the card with the highest value wins the trick and starts the next one. This continues until all cards have been played. The hill is cleared after 4 tricks and determines the goat limit. Whoever has collected the most goats after 8 tricks and has not exceeded the goat limit wins the game. You can also choose to play multiple rounds and keep score. Bokken Schieten is a card game that 999 Games successfully released 15 years ago, but is now re-releasing in a new format under its own label. Why would you want to play this? • Original trick-taking game • More depth than you might think at first glance • Suitable as a stepping stone to more challenging trick-taking games
