The Taverns of the Old Town is a deck-building game about competing inns, where revellers and noblemen drink their beers and spirits. Players are proprietors of their own establishments and try to make their pub the best in the old town through wise investments.
Why would you want to play this?
• Tactical yet accessible game
• Original theme with modular pubs/game boards
• Additional game modules offer plenty of variety
As the innkeeper, you attract new customers and, occasionally, a nobleman who brings fame. You’ll also need to invest in tables, recruit staff and find suppliers of the golden nectar. Each round, players roll and select dice, then pass them to their neighbour. The dice determine which beers you tap and serve. Will you pour another round for your regulars at the bar, or choose that rich stinker over there in the corner?
Ultimately, it’s all about victory points, which determine the winner after 8 rounds. In addition to the base game, there are 4 modules that build on one another, offering more challenge — and more fun.
